flexibility by QP during job offer negociation process. I will suggest to search for my previous posting wher I have described in detail how the process of onsite interview (i.e interview in Doha works) and what will happen during your stay. As you may know QP pays you based on your job title/roll and have most of the time when HR makes you an offer, its based on what your job role will be in QP and what they think will be a right number for you. Their is not much negociation and if you insist for more than what has been offered, they will come back with very marginal increase, like may be 500 QR 1000 QR more. When you convert that in Canadain $, its simply not a number that you can use to base your decision to come to Qatar or that make much of a difference on one's decision to come to Qatar. When I had my neociation and I did negotiated and even I was need badly but even then the numbers that they came back i.e the increase part was not that great. They generally would leave the position vacant for months then to negotiate. I think that its actaully an ego problem too. It does not mean that you should not try to negotiate but the results will be not that great. From the time that I have joined QP, the Canadain$ is going up and up and I seem to lose money all the time except the part which is paid in Canadain $ as western allowance. Having said that, QP has revised the salary structure, housing and has also introduced bonus recently and the package are much much better than they were few years back. But the Cost of living has become very very high now specially housing. What QP pays for Housing (and its not a bad amount), is simply not enough to rent a decent Detached, semi detached or any kind of house. the only option is an appartment and a 2 bed Condo like appartment will cost you from 10,000 - 12,000 QR monthly. Villa's or house are much above and based on the quality and space, you have to pay from 15,000 - 20,000 QR per month.
