What exactly are we expected to do? Is this message going out to a person or persons on the forum?

There are 2 sides to every story; I haven't heard the other side so I can't comment. However I know from experience situations are best dealt with directly and head on by the parties concerned rather than shying away from them.

I imagine you know both parties. If this is genuine concern then you can do something yourself.
