So save yourself hassle, get an arabic speaking friend to fill in the online form at http://www.moi.gov.qa/english/index.html, print off the permit and take it to the immigration desk at the airport a couple of days beforehand with copies of both your ID cards and passports, plus the originals. A single exit permit is free, an unlimited one for a year is 500 QR. But in all other respects, we've never had a problem with my husband being the sponsored one!
