Red_Pope,

I asked the question because you said the other sect was heretical? I wanted to know what their viewpoint was. I have been told that not all of the earlier sects agreed with the doctrine of the Trinity which was ratified at Nicea. The opposing viewpoint was that of Monotheism I think. I read somewhere that many believed in the Father as being divine only and that Jesus (PBUH), even with the immaculate conception, was created by the Father. They did not place him on the same level or give him divine status.

The viewpoint that you called heresy was held by many early Christians and the majority of the disciples. It was just not held by the Romans and others who spread Christianity throughout the East. I am sorry for asking this in question it was not intended to draw you into a debate. Heresy is a word that is very strong and has been used through out history to justify the killing of Human Beings who did not believe as the status quo believed- Spanish Inquisition and more.

It is good for Muslims to know the history of Christianity and Judaism because they are a part of the history of many areas which are predominately Muslim today such as Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Philistine, Egypt.
