Maybe if you read some books on raising and training dogs, you would understand that dogs, like human have tendancies to react when shouted at.... why? Because when you shout, your heart race increases, which puts you into "fight mode"... a dog will sense this and react as it feels a threat....
Secondly, normally with shouting, comes negative actions and sometimes arm movements, which a dog will associate with prey... and as prey drive is what comes naturally to an animal, of course he is going to see it as something to grab.... with grabbing will come panic from the party concerned, which leaves to more flaying around of the arm/leg, and in turn heightened aggression in the dog due to the prey movement.....
Normal tone and movement, will not cause a dog to take action as he has had no reason to get excited by your hysteria.
This is what I will never understand about most people... They will have the animal, but never learn what causes reactions they find deplorable....
My ex-husband and I had a dog training business in South Africa, which he continues to run successfully.... He specialises in animal behaviour and one thing we discovered in our years of working with animals, is that dogs, like children take on personalities that they are taught in the home, ie, if they are abused, they will be abusive... maybe not in the way we would understand, but how are they able to retaliate? With their teeth.....
Raise a pet with respect and as much authority as you would give your child and he will love you and devote his life to you..... He would also die for you if the need arose....
