Honey - Am truly sorry about your experience and thanks for sharing them. made me realise that in fact no where is 100% safe. I experienced similar situation while in Amsterdam. Over there in a few places, you know it happened quite a lot so up to a certain extent you manage it (e.g., dont go there alone, bring your own personal alarm etc.) because the problem is not going to go away. Despite best efforts, bad things still caught us by surprise.
Over here, the crime rate is low , so we tend to become complacent. So we just have to remind ourselves that it is not as safe as we thought it is.
Unfortunately there are people who will always think that the victim brought this onto herself:
Your version: You panic, couldn't drive off fast enough, and saw everything.
His version: You want to see everything, thats why you dont drive off when you have the chance.
