By all standards Doha is not a dangerous place. Yes, harrassment is just a nasty rutine but it really only happens when you walk by yourself. And at this point, I'm used to it, it does not scare me, only annoys me and embarrass me in a way.
Most stores and malls are safe. Same with Clubs and Hotels. And residential areas are much better than where I live, right in the heart of Doha where many single mens are hanging out.
I'd like to think that the incident was a one-off. I had people knocking on my door, mostly to ask for money for charity but I don't open ever since, I just tell them to go away and they usually do.
