My previous employer was renting for me a furnished 2 bedroom apartment in Al Mansoora (nice well kept building, but ..."If I use bad words again I'll be banned from this site"...ty area). On a one year rent basis the price was 6K per month. From October, the rent of this same apartment on the same conditions is 8K. I rented now starting from November a completely unfurnished 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bathroom apartment in Bin Mahmood for 7,5K (or I could have rented for 9K furnished).
My neighbours who just signed up the lease paid 11K for a furnished one (same apartment as mine). This is in a 5-6 years old building.
I however want to see what will happen in 1 year, and if I would have been you, I would have signed a 1 year extention.
