If you are getting a live-in maid then you are paying for both her food, some clothing and accommodation.
You already have to pay 6000 QR visa and agency fees and to think that they would than ask for 1500 and above and salary is outrageous.
We had one once who came in on 700, we gave her money to help in her children's education and at the end of her 2 years she was making 1150 per month.
She ended up taking, without telling us, T-shirts, chocolates, detergent, books (novels) and food.
I took the books and let her keep the rest.
Like novita77 said, hourly help is 20-25 per hour. Agencies charge 20/hour with 4 hours minimum but to think an independent part-timer would want over 1500 a month you're just being fleeced.
The Philippines will shortly raise the minimum salary for live-in maids to $200/month with a view to increase it to $400 next year.
