Is there any sort of standard process that large firms in Qatar go through.....

I was asked about my current salary, known aquaintances in Qatar, notice period, and why I want to work for them.... does this mean I'm in with a good chance of an interview or are they simply ruling out those that are more expensive - never quite sure with how things work in the middle east.
