Kids shouldnt've been allowed for sure, i dont wanna see an 8 years old (whatever) kid who just ate a bag of raja chips, and a pack of vanilla buscuits lay his hands on an Audi R8 gt or any of those concepts out there, coz this almost happened, beleive me.

really bad approach by the show team members starting from the security personal to front desk and others.being an indian,(malabari) we were not allowed to get inside with our son.(where as all white, and arab naational were got inside with out permission. i questioned about it and then could go inside.

most of the cars its written, not to touch but again white people were allowed to sit inside the car and taken photos.

when my son went near to a car one guy asked him to watch it from a distance.(if white people touch or scratch the car paint no problem. malabari can not even see it near by.

really bad, one day you will come to our country and we WILL NOT do the same to your kids.that is india. proud to be an indian.

An ardent Sympathiser of malabaries.

Too much hype as usual. Those who shouted and were aggressive got their kids in. Others didn't.

Most people were only interested in the free gifts and having their pictures taken with cars.

The people on the displays generaly did not know much about cars.

Managed to get in and out in 20 mintes.

I went in there yesterday, It was good to see the brands under one roof. The ppl who enjoyed the most was children's, It was sooooo nice to see them while they posing for photographs, This shows their fondness about cars and bikes. I wonder why they planned to restricted these hard core fans?

Superb....

I'll have to put the slicks on the KIA and perhaps adjust the air pressue on the right rear...

See you there ..

proof again that Qatar is far from ready to host an event like 2022. We were just about to go last night when we received a text from a friend who had been turned away because he had children with him (he arrived at 4pm). Shortly after he contacted us again to say that after an argument they had changed the rules and let them in.

How is it possible for a huge 'International' exhibition to make rules up on the fly?

Parking was a joke. Who designed an Exhibition centre with one tiny road for entry and exit? With no marshalling in the overspill car park people had parked so that it was just about impossible to get out. We sat and watched 4x4s wandering a muddy wasetleand looking for an exit.

As for the show.....sorry folks but having been to some proper motor shows this one was a joke. More like a small trade show, you might as well drive round the car showrooms of Doha. Where were all the concept cars? One from Fiat, one from Alpha and that was about it.

The show outside despite being described by the announcer as amazing consisted of some chap taking some competition winners for a drift, exciting for about 10 seconds and a bloke doing a few jumps on a motor bike.

If you are thinking of buying a new car go along, if you are mad about cars you'll like seeing the lambos and bugattis etc, but if you don't go you really won't be missing much at all.

i also went tonight and there were lots of kids there, babies even. but there was a sign on the door that children below 10 years old cannot be allowed inside, while those under 14 should be accompanied by adults

All,

I went today and saw all ages of kids, including infants

I checked with the lady and she indicated the kids are allowed. may they change their mind at 11th hour.

I am going to take my family tomorrow and hopefully they will let us in with children, as they let today so go out and watch some amazing cars.

Also on the outside area, all ages can see some stunts by bikes and drifting by car, this itself is fun

How do they check whether a kid is 8, 9 or 10 ?

No entry to Kids? Oh.. that's too bad and illogical!! Kids love to see them all.

My son who loves cars, was waiting for long time and would like to see bunch of cars.. i promised him too to take him by this evening ;-(

(Checked the website, for confirming the entry to kids. Yes it is true... anybody who had visited with kids so far?)

according to one of th newspapers here about 6K people came to see the motor show and i wonder if kids below 10 years old were prevented.

oh no! it's my 3 year old son who is very much excited to go to the exhibition. He really likes cars, at an early age he would at any time choose watching top gear over any cartoon shows and knows every car brand and logo by heart! extremely disappointed

let me see the show..

and there is nothing great about drifting...

even i participate in drift race, sprint race, but never tried drag race..

I would like to see some of the outdoor shows, but there is no informtaion about these on their website! (apart from some pretty pictures)

Strage considering this appears to be organised by a professional organisation.

I think it's more to do with kids below 10 may tend to hit the cars, scratch the paint off etc. is why they don't want them in there :-(

By s_isale• 24 Jan 2011 09:58
s_isale

such a shame, that kids who really enjoy viewing cars cannot get a glimpse of it.

By somwerNdmiddle• 24 Jan 2011 09:54

i think that's how they perceive it.

By s_isale• 24 Jan 2011 09:53

children below 10 cannot understand what a car is?

By somwerNdmiddle• 24 Jan 2011 09:47

even for this event, there's only a few who are allowed to witness it.

I think I'm missing something.. Perhaps I need to change the suspension configuration on the right rear and narrow the tyre..

Anyway, I'll keep practicing till I get it right..
