Qatar football team to use St George's Park as European base
By Qatar Living •
The Qatar national football team will use the Football Association's national football centre at St George's Park in May as its base for friendlies against European opposition.
The venue in Burton will host the team ahead of a match against Northern Ireland at a Midlands venue on 31 May - with other internationals also mooted.
The FA said the decision to let the Arab country use the venue was a commercial arrangement, and likened it to similar visits by Barcelona, Galatasaray and the Montserrat national team.
Qatar are currently ranked 109 in the world, 58 places below Northern Ireland.
