Major scenes missing from the Opening Ceremonies

We were able to watch the final dress rehearsal of the Opening Ceremonies (3 days back) and we were quite surprised that major scenes were deleted from the Opening Ceremonies. The first one was the scene where the "seeker" was supposed to be out to sea looking for the "tears of the moon" (pearls). In the final dress rehearsal, the seeker was actually joined by several (7-9?) other boats that floated on air. These boats came from the same area where the golden falcon appeared. This was a major scene that was missing, which I think could have been one of the major highlights of the ceremonies. On the boats were pearl divers that floated on air. It was breathtaking when they started diving for the pearls. It was awesome during the rehearsal so we were quite disapponted that they deleted it in the show itself.

The other scene that was missing was the golden dome that floated during the "seeker's" wedding. A huge golden wedding dome was supposed to fly down from the sky and sit in the middle of the entire wedding ceremony. From an aerial shot it looked like a pearl, and the horsemen were supposed to encircle the dome during their ride.

Does anybody know why they deleted some of the major scenes in the ceremony?

It was a great opening ceremony, however it could have been more spectacular if they showed these scenes in the opening.

I;ll bet you he was shaking after climbing those steps. I downloaded the pictures of him with the horse climbing those steps, For what I could tell you, that horse was pushing his limits of balance. Check the pictures on the doha forum I posted. For the rider all was gallantry, skill and guts.

"Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"

They were supposed to shoot a flare from the torch Shk. Mohammed lighted to the tower, but they stopped it because of the weather conditions.

They canceled these scenes and another 'secret' scene because of the dreadful weather conditions... The wind speed was believed to be around 15 to 20 knots.
