We will have to travel to London on June for a conference, it's held in "Radisson Edwardian Heathrow."
Is it a nice place to stay in?
What are the activities could be done after 5 pm (full daily schedule)?
Is it safe area to walk around?
how far is the hotel to the commercial are?
Just go to Uxbridge Town, then you can spent your money in the Pavillion and the Chime shopping mall. Uxbridge area is very close from Heathrow Airport.Have fun!
Heathrow is 20-30mins outside of the centre of London. There isn't much to do in and around Heathrow itself other than watch planes landing and taking off. Your best bet is to hop on a bus or in a taxi and go into central London, where you'll find plenty to do.
One thing I have done which was really good is to take a tour bus around London, you have a guide and it is a really good, safe way to see the sights. It is of course hugely expensive but well worth it. Only use ablack london cab, don't be tempted to use a private taxi, they will rip you off.
Not the best area in my opinion. Heathrow's surrounding areas are a bit grim, or were when I was community nursing there 5 years or so ago. I wouldn't walk around alone in the dark. Better to get a taxi into London, just be very careful with your wallet, the pickpockets are professional and you won't even spot them. Don't give money to the Eastern European beggars either, they pay hundreds of pounds a day to rent space in tourist areas, they are anything but poor, even the Romanians with tiny babies. London is a lovely place and exciting to visit, don't be put off. I hope you have a happy and safe time. JJ

Ok, I will send you my 6 page report offline.:)) I’ll attach some useful links too.
I can give you an estimate for the budget, if you like. All from my own experience, not to be taken as your holy book.
I also like what Jasmin said here, expect that the black cab is also a rip off, but a must-ride, at least once.
