Hi all Philippinos and Philippinas! I have some qestions about the Philippines!
Is the weather nice in September/October or there are too much tyfoons at that time?
Is it possible to go from Boracat to Palawan by boat? How much time does it takes (if yes)?
That's all! Thanks for taking the time to answer!

is wet ...don't go.Unless you want your photos to be gloomy and without color.December- May is fine. Boat from Boracay to Palawan? Maybe 24 hours but not a good idea, better to ride a plane. Manila to Palawan by plane 1 hour ticket costs approx. QAR450-500 back and forth.Hotel rates range from QAR 100-400 -4 star hotel.

Mam Anecia Wakeford,

Anytime you can go there in PI as long as your budeget well enough your needs... Climates change.. nobody predicts about the typhoon there because it's near in Pacific Ocean..

There's a lot of first class Beaches there in Phils... Boracay is too crowded especially summer time (March-May) and it's too expensive when you come there at that MOnths... Better go on Jan to MArch... and you can get some Package deal and a different Agency...

You can try El NIdo, Puerto Prinsesa and Coron, that's all in Palawan. Also Samal Island or Amanpulo beaches in Surigao. It's better take plane, you will waste you time when you ride in the boat...

It is hot all year round in PI even though it's rainy season. Boracay is a good choice. White sugar sand, clear blue water, friendly people, a bit expensive but worth it. Jan. and Feb. are the best months. Just fly to Iloilo, rent a van from the airport. I was there in '87, the cost is 2,000 pesos for the van, at least make sure that it is airconditioned first. He'll bring you to the port where you can ride a small ferry to Boracay Island. The trip is about 5 hours and 6 hours if you want to stop in Roxas and some other places for picture taking and to stretch your legs. The ferry ride is only about 15 to 20 minutes. Stay away from club panoli in Boracay, we stayed there for a couple nights but booked for 7 and it took 1 year to get a refund only part of it. Try Nigi-Nigi NoNo? right on the beach, reasonable, convenient, friendly. Enjoy the massage right near the beach while you're listening to the waves.Try the dinner buffet at Fridays every night, right on the beach. Watch the fireworks at night. If you are adventurous, you can do island hopping, scuba diving, snorkeling, horse riding, seadoo, etc. On your way back to Iloilo try to go by Antique for a different scenery. It is about 4 hour drive. You will pass by San Jose, San Joaquin, Miag-ao, Guimbal, Tigbauan, Oton, Arevalo, Molo, then Iloilo. Last Sunday of Jan. is Dinagyang time in Iloilo(just like mardigras in New orleans). While you are in Iloilo you can check Guimaras, island next to Iloilo. They have some nice beaches, bat caves, best mangoes. Just a 15 minute ferry ride. If you want to go to Palawan from Iloilo, take the plane. I am from Iloilo, and I will be in Iloilo most of Jan. to March. I will be going to Boracay, Cebu, Bohol and Camiguin for about a week each. Enjoy your trip. Do not bring travellers checks, it is hard to turn into cash. Bankcard(ATM) you can use anywhere and of course US$.

you can travel philippines anytime any month of the year. If you choose September/October, their might be some rains but still adventuruous.

I advice you not to take journey by boat, because it takes time, unless you have the guts and patience transferring from one ship to another. And BTW their is no direct ship or boat from Boracay to Palawan.

october travel is doable and the weather MIGHT be good if you're lucky. but it's better to not take any chances so try going during the dry months.

there are no direct trips by sea from boracay to palawan far as i know but they might be possible if you stop by other islands like cebu, bohol, or manila (but this is farther than the first two). you won't be needing a private boat. there are ro-ro ferries that can take you from island to island but i don't know which sea ports have routes to which destination.

try to go around cebu, bohol, boracay and palawan on the first half of your trip because they're all in the visayas area and you can island hop as much as you want.the then proceed to manila to go to either the bicol area where mt mayon is or banaue then sagada by land. mt mayon is at the south of luzon while banaue/sagada is in the north so you'd have to pass by manila either way unless you get to bicol from the visayas islands then travel north from there.

the only destination not accessible by plane from manila in your planned itinerary is sagada and banaue. you'd have to take a bus.

do google routes of the strong republic nautical highway if you want to travel by bus and see the ro-ro seaports but i think palawan is not included yet and the major ferry companies might not have a direct route. see websites of companies like negros navigation and superferry as well. the easiest would be to get a package tour, but planning and researching a trip is an adventure in itself.

hope this helps. btw, travelling by boat and/or by land only will take a lot of time if you do this on all your planned destinations.

But most of the typhoons are on the Pacific coast. The South China sea should be much more calm.

for me, go to Boracay anytime of the year,if you want to have fun,its only place you wanted to go! It's a paradise, you might never wanted to leave when you are there.

Please consider Camiguin Island also,if you want it to be a peaceful relaxing vacation! It's basically because it is not yet that crowded. Enjoy Pilipinas!!

Boracay to Palawan is almost 300 Km. You will need a big boat with quite a few sailors. I have little idea. But the trip might turn out to be a bit too expensive.

well thanks for choosing the Philippines as your destination september is not bad at all, having typhoons in the philippines just depend on the weather, usually rainy season stops in the early week of september, the places you planned to go are awesome just have a local tour guide that will help you in your island hopping......you can coordinate with the different travel agencies here in qatar to help you find a suitable travel agent in the philippines

for all the informations! It seems I will have to choose an other date!:)

And sorry for writing the filippinos wrongly, but I have seen so many different ways, that it's confusing. :)

Azi, it's time for you to take a long holiday and go home!

And Boracay and Palawan is not the only interest, I'm planning to go to Banaue, Segada, Cebu, Bohol, chocolate hills and maybe Mt. Mayon as well.

It's true that had working hadn't killed anyone yet, but why to take risk?

Summer months should be April and May. Rainy months are June to August. September usually is the start of the cold months. But because we are killing our planet with pollution and diminishing ozone layer the WEATHER has become ABNORMAL.

Go to Boracay and you'll have a great time all year round. Palawan is more calm and laid back. But one thing is for sure during 'ber months, its ROUGH seas so going by boat is not for the faint heart.

goodluck

March-April peak time at Boracay.

September/October you might meet the names of Coring, Diding, Ester, Fe, Gloria (might be signal #4).... Mallrat, Nene, ....

Boracay - Palawan by boat is really an adventure if those names above will not bother you especially if you will passby to Tubbataha Reef.

Caticlan.

That would be a bus ride from Kalibo, Aklan to the beach area where you will take a boat to the islands.

Best months to go to Boracay is January as it is the Feast of Sto. Nino also known as the Ati-Atihan.

If you're in Palawan...you're fine there...beautiful place especially if you go the the PEARL FARM :-)

I'm not sure what would be the climate at those months as I've been away for 4 years now.

Maybe someone can answer this question. If none, I'll try and check it out from a friend who still lives near Boracay. :-)
