Qatar airways Qpoints?
By londonalgiers •
I have accumulated over the past year 268 Qpoints on flights with Qatar Airways. I'm a Silver cardholder and need 300 Qpoints to qualify for Gold status.
I need to spend about 5000QR on a return ticket before the end of the year just to reach the target.
Is it worth doing it to move from Silver to Gold?
It is not worth it!!
Yes in order to keep your Status you need to gather as many qpoints eachyear 150 for silver and 300 for Gold.
If i get to 300qpoints before the end of the year. I will become a gold member for a whole year.
If you're a gold card member, you're the priority in the waiting list when you redeem your air miles. Its just like any other Loyalty Programme. But in your case, if you have to spend QR5000 before the year ends, then I suggest you just forget about it.
dont do it, as by the end of the year they will reset the points to zero, my hubby became a gold member(a frequent business traveller) last week and by the end of december, points get re setted..
Thanks Hagar, i guess you are right...
The only things you get with Gold, that you don't get with Silver is (1) additional milage for your flights, (2) ability to bring a guest with you into the lounge (when you are flying economy) and (3) free al maja greeting service for you. Bottom line, I wouldn't shell out QR5000 for a ticket just to get to Gold, unless you are taking the trip for other reasons.
