Other Rock Carvings at Al Jassassiya?

Went to Al Jassassiya to see the ancient petroglyph rock carvings there. Saw an abundance of them along a rocky ridge that runs parallel to the road. Most were small, circular indentations lined up in rows of two. The number of holes ranged from eight to around eighteen, and were all neatly lined up. There were some daisy-looking carvings as well. One large circle with nine small circles etched around the circumfrence. However, I read some postings on line that stated there was another outcropping of rocks just to the north, which had larger carvings of animals. We searched all over, but there are hundreds of rock outcroppings. Does anyone know specifically where the other carvings are located? Is there a landmark to use to identify the outcropping? Many thanks!

I've made the mistake before of publicizing very interesting pre-historical sites on the Internet and very quickly they were destroyed by naive (but possibly well-intentioned) souvenir hunters and weekend road warriors.

Leave the carvings alone. People who actually want to see them and respect them should have to do some work to find out where they are and how to get to them.

I've heard of the second set of animal carvings too, but I think it is just a myth.

Since Allah has given me a brain, it would seem like a sin not to use it.

maxheadspace - There are also Google groups n NING.. where you can share files...

else best thing is use "You Send It" software.. upto 100MB files can be sent on e-mail ID.....

send it on one ID... give password to all.. and all can see it.....

Else sending on individual IDs shall be a headache for you... :)

I would suggest YOUTUBE.. you can upload with your gmail account too....

Yes, I was thinking of that, too. I'll create a Qatar account for videos and link them here. Still need to find that other outcropping, though!

I took HD video. Would love to post some of the video material, but I don't think this site will accommodate video. Any ideas?
