holy crap i enjoyed that so much...

my boss called me up this morning and said...

"hey man i know you were supposed to go take pictures today... so f&#( that lets go to the dunes and ride quads"

who can say no to that...

i only got 2 pictures... because i was so freaking excited to get to do something fun... so sorry on the pics but they are ok.

enjoy

oh and a little story to go with this picture...

as you see i am at the top of the dune taking a picture looking out... well that is my boss at the bottom of the dune... he actually drove straight off the dune and landed way down there... thats him trying to get his quad started again... i was laughing so hard after i found out he was ok... so it gave me time to take a picture ...

i must say i havent had that much fun since i was racing back home... that was a blast... and we were riding the 400 and 450 cc bikes so they took off like mad... it was great...

you people should all go try it atleast once...

for the smaller 250 cc bikes its onlyabout 150 to 200 ryal an hour... for the bigger ones its 300 an hour...

pictures will take a few minutes to load

I totally understand your excitement. I've been in Doha for sometime. The two times I went to the desert, in 4X4 driven by a local, were just the most exciting 2 events I had here. Add to that, riding ATVs..!

Little out of the "box"!

Is it possible to install mufflers on quads? They do make quite a loud whine. They look fun to ride and watch....but not at 9pm or 10pm while sitting around the campfire with the kids playing nearby. This is why I like to camp overnight in Zakreet where nobody rides quads at night. Quads inhabit the east coast only, thank goodness.

well you could try and schedule a QL event ... and so that way a few QLers could all go and meat up at the sealine and those who want to go to the dunes can go and the rest can go to the beach...

thats actually a good idea...

hahahahahahahaha well of course i wore a helmet ... that was the first time i had ridden quads since i was in highschool... like 10 years ago...

plus i was ridding a 200 back then... so i figured i would wear one since i was ridding a 450... plus it helped keep the sand out of my mouth...

i really hope i get to go back next weekend... ill take more pictures...

Actually no, i went to the one thats a few kilometers away from the resort. the guy that u rent it from lives inside a tent thing with a special loading truck for the quads.

i did a stupid thing and that was that i didnt wear any banddanas around my nose and mouth to keep the sand out :(

lol u wimp, ur wearing a helmet :P lol jk I dont own a helmet so i went there unprotected and man it i get all this crap blown into my face.

Ur going there next week!!! :O OMG U DONT DESERVE IT, I DO.

jk :D

the guy is really nice and helped us out with a few extra minutes because we came back late..

i was going to take more pictures but i was having to much fun ... we had them at full throttle a couple of times and my rubber handle came off and i almost flipped... i was laughing so hard i had to stop the quad... good times...

i miss it already... i think we are going back next weekend...

Nice!!! Those picutres bring back some memories. I went quadbiking with my friends we were riding the 400 and 450 cc bikes, the ones near Sealion and we took some pics as well on the dunes.

My friend tried to stunt or something and he toppled. Had to bandage his arm.

I was going on the highest gear ( i forgot what the highest was either 5 or 6) and my friend was driving next to me. i was trying to act cool and tried giving him the finger with one hand i almost toppled lol.But anyway its safer to drive it fast on smooth flat ground cause if u do it with a small hump in the ground u'll go flying to the moon X_X

Btw try the sand dunes near sea lion they give u a view of desert as well as a few buildings + try taking pictures at sunset for an awesome picture moment :D

All I see is like one dune in the Pan(orama) of the pic. Where is this place thatguy ? And what height are we talking here, it looks at least 80-90 feet high.
