Hi all,

I read about Halool/Haloul/Hallul Island on several websites but can't find it on a map and cannot find any details regarding transportation/facilities there...

I read it's a good place to go diving.

Anybody can give me more details?

BTW, I'm not looking for diving courses but juste diving trips...

Thx!

Hi Weasel or any one else,

Could you please list the speed boat operators to this Island?

I shall be happy to note the same from your end

WEASEL all you answers or input should I say are perfectly correct!

with all these classified info that you knew I can safely assume you have worked somehow with Qatar Petroleum since this is QP's Offshore Site ...

You gave me the perfect idea of what it means to undergo H2S and HUET trainings prior to go in that classified island .. many thanks man!

I've been to Halul on many ocassions. You will not find it on Google Earth, it's classified info. Halul Island is where all the crude oil from the Idd El Shargi North and South fields go to. Mainly from QP and Occidental platforms. Here it is stored, dewatered, and exported while being metered.

There is no public access to this place. One needs to be trained in H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide) - Use of Breathing Apparatus, HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training) and Sea Survival training.

This is a classified hazardous area. No diving and fishing if permitted.

I am sure you are not allowed to go diving there. Restricted area. You can get there by boat or by helicopter. A good area for diving would be Hala or Halla. There is a nice reef there. Also check with the diving schools. They would know where it is nice to go.

Thanks dweller...

I guess Halul Island is not quite the spot I read about...

Read on experience qatar...

"This hilly island rises to an elevation of 190 feet and is surrounded by excellent fishing grounds. The seabed is made up of coral reefs with a large variety of magnificent and beautiful coral fish and offers wonderful opportunities for scuba divers to observe marine life."

Try these two links.

Not sure how QP look at people diving off Halul.

You could always contact their security and marine departments.

Don't know anything about the other site but maybe they could help.

I got the above by googling "Halul Island"
