Camping in Qatar
Hi everyone,
A couple of us who have only been living in Doha for two months would like to explore a little bit more of Qatar and attempt camping over the EIDE weekend....does anyone have any suggestions of where to go which is safe, cheap and accessible as we dont have a 4X4, only a little Lancer car.......
Ive heard Sealine is good but what about camping and getting out and about.....anything nearby and exciting....
Thanks
Cheryl
Does anyone know GPS coordinates for a good camping site.
I'm planning to go camping with my family in December. I'm looking for others to go camping with. Are there others who are interested in camping in Qatar? I've camped in Fuwarit beach over Eid and it was nice. I hope to make it to Zekreet or other places in the north.
Email me if interested: [email protected]
hey Sabrina
last time it cost us around 500 Qr rials only including everything, on 6 of us since the car can fit for 6 people easily, so divide 500 by 6.
PS: Imad works in a tourism company but i dont know the name. we contacted him the first time through the company, once we got to know him we contact him on his cellular phone.
Peace
For a longer term approach, join Qatar Natural History Group and go on rambles & field trips, where you'll also meet people who know the peaceful nooks & crannies. See Marhaba or contact [email protected].
Exploring in a Lancer is fine, so long as you're careful and avoid sand dunes. South is bad. West & North West is good.
What is the average cost of renting a 4x4 for a weekend and/or Imad?
Contact Imad 5577195, he has a very nice 4x4 nissan patrol fully equiped and he can take u to the sea line to the deep desert, to a nice site where u can camp he will also take u to a wild drive over the dunes. its a nice experience actually we also dont have a 4X4 and we sometimes hire him.
Peace
You can try Zikreet. It's on the way to Dukhan.
Get on the Dukhan Road ... and go straight, straight, straight ... there's a little detour happening at the moment at Shahaniya ... but it's signposted ....
Eventually you will see a flyover. Just after the Zikreet shops on the left hand side.
Turn right at this flyover (Arab School on the corner) ...
Follow road down and then explore ...
This is a beautiful piece of coastline you can get by without a 4 wheel drive, but having one is certainly better as you can access more places.
The water here is beautiful.
