Member attendance to events

Hi All

Living in Qatar, can be lonely, and if you don't get out there and make an effort, then you will find it hard to meet people, and you will be stuck in the rut of saying "there's nothing to do here", like so many find out when they haven't a circle they can hang out with.

This is going to be a stern topic, to the extent of "yay, I have 107 members in my group, but where the hell are they all?"

I have been noticing that many people have requested subscription to this group and haven't bothered to respond to posts or attend functions.

I wanted to organise family events, but none of the families on the site have bothered to respond to my posts.

I have decided that after the ladies night, I will be deleting members that have not been active at any functions. As when I sent out mails it is a waste to send to people who have no intention of attending.

Members that have joined in the last few days have a grace period of 1 month, and there after I will be deleting those that have not attended any functions. There is no point in keeping inviting people that will never arrive.

Regarding members that bring friends with to function. This is acceptable as the point of the functions are to meet as many people as possible, however, in future, please make a note that BANNED QL members will not be welcomed as they have been banned for a reason.

I realise this all sounds a bit harsh, but for those of us who do attend functions, it becomes an awkward situation when someone arrives that you are not expecting and other members might take offence to if they have had issues with that particular member - which is entirely possible as why would that member have been banned in the first place.

Lastly, to those of you who have made the effort, I want to thank you for making our get togethers socials we can talk about for days after. You guys are truly great. This is truly what the Social Group is all about.

Regards

Xena
