help...my nikon d80 fell...

guys.. can i ask for some advice.. i bought a nikon d80 about 4 months ago.. last thursday while I was studying something from my photography book my son handed over the camera bag to me and it slipped from his hand.. I was confident nothing happened because the bag was the usual lowepro camera bag being sold at department stores... but when I opened it.. the lens is already hanging and a certain part of the body is dangling 2 small wires black and red and a bronze strip with some connections like ic type..was also ripped.. in my mind why did it got damaged like that considering the bag is foamed.. and it just fell like from 1 foot from the floor because my son was in bed and he was handing it over to me.. no real impact...

ok my question...

is this still under warranty considering the damage..???

and where can i have it fixed... i bought it at carrefour...

and having said all these things. can it still work??

sorry i'm in a panic mode already ....please help;)
