zoom - galleria Manchester United and France left-back Patrice Evra admitted that England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008 was the source of much mirth in the Old Trafford dressing room.
With the 26 year old set to travel to Austria and Switzerland with Les Bleus next summer, he enjoyed a giggle at the expense of teammates such as Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand, who will remain at home.
"In my heart I am disappointed but I have to laugh at them because they would do the same if France had not qualified," he told The Sun on Friday.
"I was singing ‘England, England’ in the dressing room, which I found quite funny, even if they didn't."
Still, with the laughter aside, Evra couldn't hide his shock at England's predicament, the Three Lions losing out 3-2 at home to Croatia in a vital game that ultimately saw them fail to reach the tournament.
"I still can’t quite believe it," he admitted.
"A team like England should be there and it will be a weaker tournament because they are not."
