Siberian Huskies

I thought I would share this with you. I got it from a friend of mine.
I can vouch for every work spoken here!
The Siberian Husky
So many people tell me that they want a beautiful dog to lie in their garden and look pretty; they choose a Siberian husky because they are so beautiful. What people do not realise is that a Husky will not lie in their garden and look beautiful. Yes, they are stunning looking dogs, they are also extremely intelligent and - love to dig! When I got my Huskies I was told that I could have either a Husky or a garden. I chose the Husky, and I now have a beautiful garden FULL of beautiful holes.
Huskies are also known cat and bird killers. Not because they want to kill but because they are inquisitive and want to play, if something runs they WILL chase it.
They have the most gentle and loving nature and will welcome everybody in to your home. (Even the intruders) They are most definitely NOT guard dogs, they do not respond in the way a normal dog will respond. In other words they do not have ears, they have ornaments. Huskies generally do not come when you call, you will get the occasional one that will respond in the way you want, but most of them are very much on their own mission. They are very vocal and can be noisy at times - singing when they get excited. Also you will find them to be excellent escape artists.
Huskies are an absolutely brilliant dog to live with but you need to be a very special kind of person to share your home with this breed. It takes a lot of respect, exercise and mental stimulation to keep a Husky happy and healthy.
Knowing their nature and how loving and sociable they are makes it difficult for me to understand how the Husky can be the most euthanized breed of dog. People get them without troubling to understand exactly what they need and when they get out and wander sometimes they never get them back. Occasionally people give them away or even abandon them because they are not as easy to live with as they expected… this I find extremely sad.
Before getting a Husky, please study the breed and if you think you can live with someone much cleverer that you then go ahead.
