Pinch Collars
Hi All
I was horrified last night when I went to my vet and saw that there were pinch collars on sale on their rack.
When I asked the lady there, she told me people like to use as them as collars for their dogs.
Now a pinch collar is exactly that. A pinch, continuously. Imagine yourself in a very tight pollar neck shirt with studs sticking you from the inside. (see the picture attached)
The pinch collar has been outlawed by Green Peace and people who do use them should be trained in the correct way to actually utilise them.
What the collar does is exert continuous pressure on the dogs neck, which makes the dog feel like its being continuously corrected. This collar is normally used on working dogs, ie, police, sport.
What some people do is file the metal spikes into points whick then tears into the dogs skin.
This collar IS NOT TO BE USED as a daily use (pretty) collar.
If you see a collar like this being sold as a normal collar, please do not buy them. They are inhumane and cruel to animals that normally don't need them.
