Our four-legged friends at QAWS needs us. Will you help?
The Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS) is a place where you can easily lose your heart… to members of the four-legged variety.
QAWS is a non-profit organisation which supports homeless/stray animals and rehome them. Surviving mainly through contributions from well-wishers, they are a literal example of a phoenix bird.
A few years ago, their facility burned down to the ground. But never losing heart, these ‘friends of animals’ fought back grittily. And now, they’re ready to expand even more. But they need your help. Here’s how you can assist them.
From a message they circulated on Facebok…
“To all our wonderful friends and supporters in construction....... We are in a position to build an extra 18 kennels in one of our new portacabins to house dogs and puppies who need us, but we are in need of materials to make this happen!
Please get in touch if you are able to donate (or supply at very low cost) any of the following:
1 – 60 m2 tiles (SOURCED)
2 – Floor tiling grout : 60KG
3 – Marine Ply wood sheets (8ft x 5ft) : 90 sheets
4 – 2” door hinges : 76 pieces
5 – Sliding Barrel bolt locks : 40 pieces
6 – 2” x 2” timber (6m lengths) : 190 pieces
7 – 4” x 1” timber (6 metre lengths) : 95 pieces
8 – Perspex Sheets (8ft x 5ft) : 80 sheets
9 – Screws (1.5” & 3”) : 20 boxes of each
10 – Paint, white oil based gloss : 60 litres
11 – Rolls of heavy duty wire netting : 10 rolls
