However, the Crescent Sighting Committee of the Ministry of Endowments will make the official announcement regarding the arrival of Ramadan.
Executive Director of the Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ansari Complex, Engineer Faisal Al-Ansari said that the crescent of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1442 AH will be born at dawn on Monday, April 12, 2021 AD, at 5:31 am Doha local time (2:31 am GMT).
The sun will set on Monday in Qatar at 5:55 pm, while the date of sunset for the crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan will be at 6:16 pm.
According to him, this means that the crescent will set 21 minutes after sunset on Monday, and this period will increase whenever we head west.
"It is noteworthy that the sighting of the crescent is affected by several factors, including climatic factors, geographical factors, and astronomical factors such as the residence period, the age of the crescent and its height above the western horizon at sunset," QCH underlined.
