
Ramadan in Qatar to begin on Saturday, March 1

Ramadan will begin in Qatar on Saturday, March 1, announced the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, after Maghrib prayers on Friday.

The Committee made the official announcement after the crescent moon was sighted on Friday evening. The committee then held a meeting at the Ministry headquarters before announcing the start of the Holy month.
Awqaf, during the announcement, said 2,385 mosques across the country were fully equipped to welcome worshippers and host prayers during the Holy month.

Awqaf also announced several Ramadan activities, including the distribution of free Iftar meals for those fasting, and food kits to be given to the needy.
Awqaf will also host numerous religious lectures, as well as cultural competitions across the country.
