First meeting of Qatari-Saudi Follow-up Committee takes place

Following the signing of the historic Al-Ula Declaration earlier this year, Qatar and the former blockading nations have been making efforts to strengthen relations for the security, stability, and unity of the GCC.
Saudi Arabia was the first to open its airspace, land, and sea borders with Qatar, following which the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain opened their borders to the Gulf State.
As Qatar and Saudi Arabia work toward enhancing ties, the first meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Follow-up Committee went underway in Riyadh yesterday.

His Excellency the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Regional Affairs ambassador Ali bin Fahad Al Hajri chaired the meeting from Qatar's side, while from the Saudi side was led by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political and Economic Affairs Eid al-Thaqafi.
The meetings of this committee follow from the agreement between the leaderships of the two countries as well as the Al-Ula Declaration. They are also a reflection of the fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries.
Recently, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stressed Qatar's firm support to Saudi Arabia.
Additionally, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud and HE Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani also met in Doha earlier this month to discuss bilateral cooperation and ways to bolster ties.
