People 40 years of age and above now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine

Qatar has always placed the health and safety of its population amongst its top priorities.
This has been even more evident throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, as the country began implementing a series of preventive and precautionary measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of its citizens and residents.
As Qatar continues to fight the pandemic with all its might, today the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced that the age threshold for COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has been reduced to 40 years.
(MOPH) has announced that it has lowered the age threshold for COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to 40 years of age.

The country launched its COVID-19 vaccination campaign in December 2020.
Due to the recent availability of larger quantities of vaccines, Qatar is now able to significantly increase the pace of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program.
The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is now administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine across all 27 health centers, Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC), Lusail drive-through vaccination center, and Al Wakra drive-through vaccination center.
With the availability of these venues, more and more eligible citizens and residents are able to get the COVID-19 vaccines.
The Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine can be given to people aged 16 years and above while Moderna can be given to those 18 and above.
The Ministry is also collecting feedback regarding side effects, if any, faced by individuals who have taken the COVID-19 vaccine.
Individuals wishing to share feedback can do so by clicking on the ‘COVID-19 Vaccination Feedback’ section on the Ministry's website.
The Ministry stressed the importance of feedback as it will allow health authorities to record and monitor any symptoms people have.
