HH The Emir, Father Emir perform Eid Al Adha prayers

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Father Emir HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani performed Eid Al Adha prayers along with citizens at the Al Wajba praying area on Monday morning.

HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, personal representative of HH the Emir, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani and a number of sons of HH the Father Emir took part in the prayer, according to Qatar News Agency. Sheikhs, ministers and citizens also attended the prayer.

Dr Thaqeel Sayer Al Shammari, Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, who led the prayer, delivered the Eid sermon in which he thanked God for his grace on Muslims as they completed the hajj and for the blessing of safety and security.

He called on Muslims to stay committed to their prayers and follow in the footsteps of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

The judge also discussed the purpose of 'udhiyah' and called on helping the poor. He also called on Muslims to make Eid a show of unity and cooperation. Thousands of worshippers performed the Eid prayer in mosques and praying areas across the country.
