MotoGP commence final day of testing
The final night looks set to be full of excitement after Maverick Viñales, Andrea Iannone and Jorge Lorenzo competed for the top spot on the second day of testing.
Lorenzo, Hector Barbera, Andrea Dovizioso and Loris Baz were the only full-time riders to do runs of more than half race distance on Thursday.
Rossi was the first official rider to head out on track on Thursday and quickly moved to the top of the time sheets. He then turned his focus to testing some new items as the restrictive tyre allocation didn‘t allow him to do a time attack. This was the reason he was unable to improve on his best time yesterday.
Rossi settled for eighth position with a fastest lap of 1‘55.947s, he completed a massive 56 laps, putting in more than any other official rider and finished just 0.511s off the pace of Maverick Viñales (Team Suzuki Ecstar) at the top of the timesheets.
Most of the riders, including Bradley Smith and Valentino Rossi, have saved several of their preferred tyres for the final day. Not only are they hoping to put in their own long run, but also to set a quick time for a final confidence boost before the season.
