There's no problem for having kids under any sponsorship...

I've a few friends get married here; they are on their fathers' sponsorship with growing family: P

Even I'm not under my hubby's sponsorship: D

"your wife can't give birth if she is under her father's sponsorship."

My bhabi (SIL) was under her father's sponsorship in Qatar when she got pregnant but when my brother heard that there might be problem, she transfered the sponsorship to my brother just before she delivered..

Imtiaz4u, I am sorry to hear about your divorce but there is one question I would like to ask if you don't mind. Who got the custody of the baby? A friend of mine is thinking of seeking divorce and he has a 3 year old girl which he wants to keep but he is scared that he wont' get the custody. Did you get married and divorced in Qatar? If you get married in your home country, can you file for divorce in Qatar or do you have to go the country in which the marriage was registered?

Why don't you ask at the hospital where your wife is due to give birth? Surely it's better to put your wife's and your mind at rest. I'm sure everyone here is giving you the correct information but if it was me, I would want some official clarfification sooner rather than on the day I'm about to pop.

my ex-wife gave birth when she was in her father sponsor. no hospital can reject that. he has a valid marriage contract. that is enuf. but he should continue with the process of transfering his wife to his sponsor.

btw do u know once u both get, the first thing was u should have got ur wife transfered to ur sponsor.

again i say, u will face no problem and if u face call me and i will handle those people there ;-)

@baldrick...he is worried about the issue of giving birth but not under his sponsorship.

@gandangpinay...mothers are now allowed to sponsor their kids in Qatar, but technically it should be the father to sponsor. Since you don't have an RP yet, that would be a problem. The child's birth certificate will be issued at CID office in Salwa Road. Depending on the Captain on duty, they may require you to submit a passport as guarantee that the child would be approved sponsorship. If sponsorship to the child is not approved to either of the parents, you need to provide a dated plane ticked for the mother and child to the country of destination. Only then you can retrieve the passport.

Ask your company to fast track the sponsorship so that you can get an RP and sponsor your child.

Good luck.

As per my understanding (that can be wrong), your wife can't give birth if she is under her father's sponsorship.

no problem at all. whle filling the application they do not ask all this details. u can show ur marriage contract, passport copy and thats all. they need 2 person name from wife side and 2 person name from husband side to fill in the form. wait for other answer.

i remember my ex-wife was in her father sponsor. we never faced any problem.
