Now all we need is the humidity to play along and walla!

We can than look forward to an exciting Doha Asian Games...

Being from the Indian Subcontinent... The Asian Games will bring all our sporting heroes to Doha our second home....

be great, but unfortunately it will be the opening and closing ceremonies that will make the party. The rest we (ex-pats) are very much delaid, but trust me David Atkins show will be the greatest show ever made in the Gulf.

Alim, Qatar very successfully hosted the Asian Cup soccer competition some years ago. There have been many other very well staged (but not supported) sporting events over the years.

No one get me wrong, I love this country a great deal but "the biggest sporting event in Qatar" doesn't say too much to me, given the fact that the largest sporting event until now in Qatar was the televised World Cup. Then again, I will be attending alot of the events because of my golden media pass, but its just something about the Asian Games that doesn't excite me. Olympics maybe, but Asian Games..naah.

Let's hope with the new underpasses that they remember this time to put drainage facilities in them.

When the one near the British Embassy was constructed they forgot. First time it rained there was water up to the the roof. The only thing capable of going through would have been a submarine.

the indian community is the largest expat group by far... I hail from Bombay or Mumbai to be politically correct....

You will enjoy Doha but make sure you are here before the Asian Games... It is going to be THE spectacle...

I guess i'm one of the many few who aren't too excited about the Asian Games. I believe once the games get here, all the traffic will be back to its (crowded) normal state despite the new roads. I could be wrong, but like you said, in 100 days we will see. :)
