Finally with the Al Mana junction heading towards the a/port ready and the one next to Hamad Hospital nearing completion.
The Asian Games traffic jam saga is easing...

Sport
So at least Patrick Furlong will have something to transmit AA?
be great, but unfortunately it will be the opening and closing ceremonies that will make the party. The rest we (ex-pats) are very much delaid, but trust me David Atkins show will be the greatest show ever made in the Gulf.
Johar Ab.....
Sport do not take this the wrong way but do you really think this is good who can come and watch it? they have to make superbikes free coz other than football qatar is not a sporting nation! Yeah i have a nice dog he is called reggie and he is 6 bless him
U say ur an editor... interesting... is it a magazine, periodical or an online media group?
Hey thats a cutie pup you have there. Do you happen to know of anybody whoz got dalmation pups for sale or otherwise. I need to gift it to a friend.
Alim, Qatar very successfully hosted the Asian Cup soccer competition some years ago. There have been many other very well staged (but not supported) sporting events over the years.
No one get me wrong, I love this country a great deal but "the biggest sporting event in Qatar" doesn't say too much to me, given the fact that the largest sporting event until now in Qatar was the televised World Cup. Then again, I will be attending alot of the events because of my golden media pass, but its just something about the Asian Games that doesn't excite me. Olympics maybe, but Asian Games..naah.
What?
could that be VOILA?...*shrug*
Alim215 i am not excited by the Asian games either
Let's hope with the new underpasses that they remember this time to put drainage facilities in them.
When the one near the British Embassy was constructed they forgot. First time it rained there was water up to the the roof. The only thing capable of going through would have been a submarine.
I know of many a sport loving enthusiast who are eager to watch the BIGGEST Sporting EVENT to hit QATAR....
and there are many sports fans in Doha...
Its simple.. you over come all the odds .. be it traffic.. negative comments ...... neigbhouring strife... because Sport is the uniting factor in times like these...
It stands for peace and unity..
FORSA Doha Asian Games.. BRING IT ON!!!
the indian community is the largest expat group by far... I hail from Bombay or Mumbai to be politically correct....
You will enjoy Doha but make sure you are here before the Asian Games... It is going to be THE spectacle...
hi sport from whch part of india are you from. i am joining doha soon , how large is indian community there
I guess i'm one of the many few who aren't too excited about the Asian Games. I believe once the games get here, all the traffic will be back to its (crowded) normal state despite the new roads. I could be wrong, but like you said, in 100 days we will see. :)
