hahaha I open a new account give my salary certificate and woman told me, OK if you wont credit card QNB will take you 150% of limit what we give you for guaranty of payment of credit card use.

I just say to woman. Im not monkey. If you selling bananas this will be to costly. Second I order you to close immediately my account and I go to another bank where they trust to customers from Europe.

And my salary is more then 50K a month. For this I think she or bank policy will change or loose customers who spending money and not just have credit cars in valet and spend 200 rials with them.

ANd woman say NO at the end of month we will close account...NO I say read the contract. Now I will duck you...read the contract :customer can close account whenever he wont in same day. LOL

This for QNB which is not the first bank but the last.

My personal opinion sorry.

HSBC keeps changing the interest/charges they charge on credit cards, on personal loans, on car loans, and they keep slapping unexplainable charges right and left especially in those horrible economic conditions and there is no one to question them!!!

If you go to the bank and question the unexplainable charges, they will simply give you "this is our new policy" like, what the hell?!!

THIS IS A SHOUT AGAINST SUCH a ripoff!!!

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!!

DO NOT DEAL WITH HSBC BANK !!!

Doha Bank is very unprofessional!!! One incident was when my dad swiped his card and he got charged for it! He received an SMS saying his account was debited.. good thing the next day when he went to the bank they said the amount was not deducted from his account.. well, okay.

Second incident it had to happen to me!! I went to buy something in Landmark and the cashier told me that she can't seem to use my ATM card. It kept saying "Call Center"! I was wondering what the hell is happening, I just withdrew a couple of hundred bucks and after 10 minutes my card is playing a trick on me? The lady swipes my card 3x and still nothing.. so I pay with cash. After 10 mins, I receive 3 sms from Dohabank saying that 1) My account has been debited 2) My account has been CREDITED and then 3) My account has been debited at a 1 store transaction!!! So, now I am dealing with this horse kak and the funny thing is they told me it will take 2-3 weeks to get my QR 200 back!! Hahah!! They are driving me insane!! I just want my money back and to be free of this banking stress! Is that so simple?? Why does Dohabank offer such services they can't seem to live up to??

By the way, I was on QNB before then when I transferred to a different company, I figured to try Dohabank.. and so far, it's a bad decision. They give you KAK service!!! QNB is far better than Dohabank. FAR!!

If you are just opening a bank account, mind you DohaBank is not the bank for you!! They are a bunch of unexperienced banking people that will even provide hassle for you when you least need it!! Convenience banking?? Haha. That's a dream hey.

I have an account with Commercial Bank, and I don't have any problem with them, but at first you must have QR5000 inside.

My husband is using IBQ (International Bank of Qatar) and he likes that too.

I am a Standard Chartered for like 2.5 years and most of my friends are dealing with IBQ and they were all happy with its services ;-)

As far as I know IBQ and Standard Chartered are merging. My first bank here is Doha Bank, and their online banking was very useful to me specially the e-transfer!

Oh, about the credit cards, I have no complains with Standard Chartered only they will fine you Qrs. 125 on late payment for 5 days!

IBQ, my friends says they are really flexible!

Have a nice weekend to you!

Cheers

We goes to Doha Bank. First we were with main branch in Doha. Then because of convenient my husband moved it to Mesaieed where he works (they have branch in his office). Somehow we have to change the account number too. What alot of agro ... our cheque bounce after we moved the branch ... eventhough we already notified them.

We dont have credit card since we arrived here ... can't be bother with the agro of having one.

I heard few good things about IBQ though ... but never have any first experience. How long u been with IBQ?

Well I think it’s a rip off. No such thing as the best bank. I left Doha Bank because of poor customer service and went to QNB which am happy with.

With QNB, you have to have a minimum of Qr 3,000 in your current account always. It’s a compulsory savings scheme.

Plus, you get .25% in your savings account and if you take out a mortgage loan you pay 8.5%.

Be careful, read the small prints. I don't trust banks here.

This topic has been widely covered in many previous threads. Use the search engin to find several forum topics that treated this subject.

The bottom line is: there is no such thing as "best bank". The concept of Customer service and satisfaction is unknown, they are all sub-standard, procedures and response time: light-years away from western banks. Choose from the names mentioned above, the most convenient for you to use.
