Corcaoich, I see you are member here or in Qatar for more than one year; so you are familiar with the live here, and if you'll check QL - rental or the newspapers - as Gulf Times, I think you will find all the details requested for a shared villa, by giving a phone call. As far as I know, for 10,000 QR you will get an apartment (2 bedroom, I suppose) into a compound villa where are shared the common facilities (halls, gym, pool etc), as in a block of flat.
If you are interested for a cheaper place of living, try an apartment in a block of flats, surely will be less than the amount you had mentioned.
An idea might be to stay in an aparthotel for about 6000Rials per month for a room and then maybe up to 10,000 for a 2 bed apt. Then have a look around at whats on offer. There are deals out there.
Google Gulf Times and check out the classified section. There are usually a few rental deals advertised. Thursday is the best day.
Also Garvey Brothers have an area with villas and apartments surrounding a clubhouse with a pool, gym etc.
Not exactly a compound but they might be a little cheaper than a fancy all inclusive compound.
Because many villas are rented at above your stated price point. That said, rents are coming down and depending on where and what you want to rent (3/4 bedrooms, a communal pool/gym in a relatively new compound) you're probably looking at 10,000 as being a bare minimum.
Many Asian families/singles share villas in order to cut down on rental costs.
Would suggest you contact a real estate agent to find single accomodation in your price range. There are many good compounds that offer both flats and villas with all the desirable amenities. However, also be aware in a compound (especially with villas) you may be with families with children - you may not care, but to me, that might be a sticking point given the many different ways parents believe their little darlings should be allowed to behave.
