WestBay 3 bedroom apartment - where to go?
By loisstella •
Hi,
We've been trying to get an apartment in westbay. Having some difficulty with the Beverly Hills Towers and so we're having to consider other options . We're living in the Somerset which is not right for us, the Four seasons is full and we do not want to move into Ezdan suites.
So - we're running out of options.
I need your help.
Looking for 3 bedroom with good facilities (outdoor pool, kid friendly etc)
Where would you recommend?
Please help!
Ummm...not sure loisstella.
And I agree, decent villas in decent compounds cost more than decent apartments.
not looked at asas...same guys as bht right?
the ones we liked were wayyyyy more expensive than that.
we don't want to be in a compound right now. its not right for us
Wow, compared to the prices you quote, loisstella, it seems you'd get more for your money in a compound.
and if you could wait, there will be several 5 stars hotels to be ready in 3-6 months time (u may get better deals).
All the best!
Very Interesting read....
loisstella - have you looked at Asas (i think that's what it's called)? Near Somerset (to the left as you look from Somerset towards the sea), two towers joined at the bottom.
Westbay in the big towers (BH, Ezdan, Al Fardan) etc pricing in my experience is generally between:
14K - 18K - 1bedroom
16K - 20K - 2bedroom
17K - 21K - 3 bedroom
Apart from W - which is a bit more expensive.
It might be worth investigating about prices at zigzag too - Gregorian may be able to offer guidance?
Also - if you're in no rush - The Pearl is op0ening up as we speak. I know of some apartments becoming available in May - around 26K for 2 bedroom
we don't want a villa right now - but thanks for the tip.
Roadtester - Four seasons and W have 1 & 2 bedroom apartments available.
W very hip (too hip for us) but beautiful apartments - going from about 23K amonth. Four Seasons is a lot cheaper and thye have spectacular pool and beach.
The only place I know that do short term are Ezdan suites and Somerset. But others may be able to advice
on other locations also.
Could someone please put some indicative prices for zig zag, somerset, beverly hills etc? looking for 1-2 bed place, do they allow short term?

HE WHO DARES WINS
the swiming pool is not ready neither the gym all this is going to be ready by mid may....
with a balcony and a pool? Hmmm....I need you need a villa, it would be better for you.
"I do live by the motto that pessimists are usually right, but all the great change in history was done by optimists" -Thomas Friedman
gregoriocalderon - is the swimming pool ready at zig zag? From what I can see everything bar the two towers is still very much under construction.
loisstella - dottymum is right, it definitely helps out here to pester people face to face. As you live nearby it would be worth popping round to BHT every couple days to ask for an update. At least then you'll be fresh in their minds, and it shows you're keen.
Hold out for Beverly Hills Tower. You have to keep letting the management here see your face to get things moving!!!! It's probably true about a tennant changing their leaving dates, happens all the time here.
For me a pool without sun is a bonus as i too have young children. There are lots of young children here and every afternoon the pool area is full of mothers and kids, instant playmates for everyone!
Good luck.
gregorio - we need 3 bedrooms and a balcony - which is the big missing thing in the zigzag...
i have an aparment in zig zag tower 169 m2 with 2 master bedrooms, maid room, living, dining and kitchen including one indoor parking and the facilities include swiming pool, gym...very nice layout social area is separated from the main rooms. try to see it you will like it.

- oops
I have a 10 month old baby. We're not that concerned about getting sun, in fect, no sun in the afternoon might even be a benefit to us!
Thanks for all your advice tallg - will be a bit more patient!
Sun or no sun, it's still better than a lot of the apartment block pools. If you want a really good one you need to go to a compound or villa.
Just for your info.
The pool over there sucks... after 1Pm there is no sun, I think you will have to thanks to the brilliant architects that only think in make something nice instead in something useful.
The Venezuelan Sensation!!!
I'd say that's just how things are in Qatar! He probably knows as much as you if it's the current tenant who's faffing about. Having lived there myself, I'd say it's worth holding out for (especially if you're already used to the construction going on around West Bay, which is really the only downside).
We'd love to move in there actually but the sales guy has been awkward. We were hoping for a 3 bedroom with balcony. One was meant to be available to view from 5 March, then 7 March, now he thinks maybe tomorrow its available but he doesn't know as the person living there now has extended his stay until 31 March - so all isreally unclear. I really like the place I'm just a little concerned only because this guy can't give us a straight answer... its the only reason I'm considering going elsewhere.
What's the issue with Beverly Hills Tower?
oh, on W residencies - they only go up to 2 bedroom and they have a very small kitchen with only 2 hob plate - which is not ideal, I like to cook.
Its also a bit too hip for us - constant loud music and we'd seriosuly have to work on a six pack or we'd look out of place. The 2 bedroom apartments are also 31000 a month - a bit too much for what it is.
Somerset is actually brilliant apart from a rubbish pool. If they had an outside & kiddie pool I'd never leave. So looking for something similar to this place with a bit more childfriendly facilities.
You say Somerset is not right for you. Can you specify what's wrong with it, or more importantly what it is you're after?
