Vehicle purchase/registration question

I've been shopping around to buy a used vehicle. I would prefer a full size pickup truck (think Ford F-150, GMC, etc). I've been told by a few folks that you can only get a truck registered if you have a business. Can anyone verify this? It seems kind of strange, but we are in Qatar!

I think you're confused about the meaning of "Pickup Truck" in American English.

how teh hell did he buy a truck and is driving it around the town. well his company handled the paper work and its under ownership.

For anyone that cares to know, the answer to my original question is that a private individual can own and register a pickup truck in thier name.....as I now have one in my name.

i think its right coz its used as commercial purpose not for family... but its not neceaasary that u own your own bussiness if u have any friend who have bussiness any firm or any transport company u can transfer commercail car on his name..
