Its very simple and easy no worries. I have performed last year in april and nothing went wrong. Only this is my suggestion get your hotels reserved earlier then journey in Makkah & Madinah. Road is very good through out, very high speed traffic. Second suggestion donot stress yourself drive as much as you can drive comfortably, dont try to reach in one day. In my opinion one should have to break journey in Riyadh. Keep yourself fresh all the time. Where ever you feel tired must stop and take some rest. If you are travelling with family and kid enjoy the drive and dont put in your head as a stress that you have to drive in one stretch only. Keep sufficent drinking water in your car. Keep GPS or at least Road map with you.Start your journey from Doha at your ease but leave riyadh at the earliest say max till 0730 hrs in this way you will be able to reach Taif / Meeqat positively by asar prayer.

Have a safe journey,
