:For Road Test:

1. Right after opening the door, greet the police "good morning/afternoon sir".

2. Hold your documents with two hands and give it to the police to show courtesy.

3. CHECK the car seat if it is close to the steering wheel and adjust it backwards so you have more space in entering.

4. Once sitted, put your seatbelt right away to avoid the chance of forgetting it.

5. Adjust your seat.kick the clutch..if not enough, adjust seat more..kick the clutch 3x so you will feel your comfortable reach. In adjusting the seat, put one of your hands on 12 o'clock of steering wheel for support when pulling/pushing the seat.

6. Adjust your rear view mirror with TWO hands. Be sure you don't touch the glass.

7. Adjust your side mirror right/left.

8. after steps 1-7, put both hands on steering wheel. left hand-9 o'clock, right- 3 o'clock. Then say "Sir, I'm ready".

9. When the police say go, turn off hazard, turn on signal, shift to 1st gear, release handbrake. (I opt in pressing the brake before releasing the handbrake)

10. Check all mirrors, look on your left side mirror and slowly move your car.

11. When police say "park", first thing you do is to turn on signal, check rear mirror, press brake slowly..feel your car braking smoothly, shift to 2nd gear in proper speed, check rear & right mirror before pulling to your right.

12. observe proper spacing between the road & car. Be sure your wheel is aligned straight, car parallel to road

before stopping.

13. Once stopped, turn on hazard (turn off signal first if it's still active). Shift gear to neutral then pull handbrake.

14. Put both hands on steering wheel and wait for police to say "ok,good!" , "go", "finish"...then say "thank you". Unfasten seatbelt & step out of car. (just an option- push your seat backward before stepping out of the car).

15. Congrats! you pass!

Important notes:

* Be aggressive- don't be afraid to step on the gas pedal!

* Observe proper speed limit- if speed limit is 50, don't go over 50 BUT DON'T BE TOO SLOW. Make your driving lively!

* Shifting - shift accordingly so the engine wont rev too loud or avoid early shifting that can "choke" engine

For smooth shifting on secondary roads/ inside subdivisions (50 km/hr speed limit)

1st gear: 0-20

2nd gear: 20-30

3rd gear: 30-40

4th gear: 40-50

5th gear: only use this on main roads

On main roads - maybe a little more aggressive depending on traffic flow.

* Breaking - Avoid hard braking except when needed. (You don't want to make the policy feel dizzy) So, keep proper distance between vehicles. CHECK rear view mirror everytime before you brake.

Tensions & feeling nervous is normal. Just think that the police is your father & you want to drive him safely

Note: sometimes police may bluff you. If he say 'park' in a no parking zone, such as bus stop, driveway entrance,etc.. don't park! Just say "it's not allowed here sir, I will find another spot".

You will start at 5:30 with the theoretical (signs exam) they will ask not more than 5-6 signs if you answered with confidence and quickly.

Then they will let you know if you pass if yes you go out to start the practical exam:

1) Is the hill test , you have to stop in the middle (on the line painted in the street) then continue till the end of it, then reverse back to you starting point , which means you have to reverse as L shape

2) Then you go to the parking test, you have to do it in one shot and make sure not to cross the lines or hit the, and you have to reverse back from the parking position.

3) After a while they will let you know if you pass and if yes they will call your name so you in the bus and start follow the test car.

4) When you fell that you are ready and you want to go next and when the bus stops go out and go to the car and start with the seat belt then the mirror and start driving smoothly as you used to do, don’t think of it as an exam.

GOOD LUCK
