Is there any expiry/ time frame to change from temporary to permanent driving license?

Hello everyone...
Am currently holding a temporary driving license which is valid till 26th Dec 2012, because my visit visa will get expired on that date. Is it compulsory that i have to change to permanent driving license before my temporary get over? Or is there any validity like 3 months or something available for changing directly to permanent without giving test after my temporary license get expired?

YOU ALREADY MENTIONED THAT YOU ARE ON TEMPORARY DRIVERS LICENSE IN WHICH IT WILL EXPIRE ON THE 26TH OF DECEMBER 2012. YOU CANNOT EXTEND IT ANYMORE UNLESS YOU WILL CONVERT IT TO PERMANENT DRIVERS LICENSE. YOU WILL JUST NEED YOUR QID WITH PASSPORT AND YOUR VISA...
