HI
I am planing to visit Malaysia from an adjacent asian country. I was told that there are 2 terminal .
KLIA and LCCT (Low Cost).
I would like to know if they are 2 different terminals or are they 2 sections of the same airport? What is the proximity of the airport from the city and what is the best means of transportation from the airport to the city and also in and around the city?

Tks

Maaverix,

Welcome to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

For your information, Qatar Airways will land at Main Terminal Building (MTB) KLIA. Malaysia Airlines and many major airlines operates from MTB. Low Cost Airlines such as Air Asia and Tiger Airways operates from Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT).

I suggest you book your hotel prior your trip to KL. Good hotels are like JW Marriot, Le Meridien or KL Hilton. The hotel can arrange their concierge to meet you at the KLIA Arrival Hall.

KLIA is about 50 km from the city. There is a shuttle bus for tourist called Hop On Hop Off (www.myhoponhopoff.com). This bus goes to major tourist attractions in KL. You pay RM 38 for 1 day journey all around KL.

Have a nice stay in KL, Syukran!!!

LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) is serving Low Cost carriers like Air Asia, Tiger Airways etc. It is located some 20km from the Main Terminal Building of KLIA (MTB). There is shuttle bus from MTB to LCCT. Proceed to the bus station at the multi storey carpark / car rental building or just follow the sign. The fare is RM1.5 (not sure but very minimal). Or you can use taxi (proceed to taxi coupon counter)

Transportation to KL City, from MTB there's a fast train, or ERL fare RM35 (28min to city) if from LCCT there's plenty of buses to KL Sentral Station fare RM9

Hope this info will help
