I also recently moved to Doha from Karachi... I assume that you are sending un-accompanied baggage. Once you have booked your cargo in NZ, just bring the airway bill with you. Once in Doha, you can either spend a day clearing the consignment yourself or save yourself from trouble and just appoint a clearing agent who will do all procedures and deliver the cargo to your residence.In my case i appointed Good Will Cargo, they are on airport road. They charged me QAR 500 and cleared and delivered the cargo to my residence. I had 150KG of cargo in about 7 big boxes.I think they charge a standard QAR 500 per airwaybill (shipment). It does not matter if it is one box or 10 boxes.It seems to be a normal practice of Cargo agents cheating when telling u the charges upfront ... once the cargo is cleared, then they start asking you stupid questions to frustate you and force you to accept all the extra charges.In my case it started with QAR 300 ... but I ended up paying QAR 500.If you do it yourself, you will lose a day or 2 ... you will pay 120 for the customs and about 100 for the pickup/truck.In Doha, you only need the airway bill and a photocopy of your passport. Are these effects travelling withh you on the same flight and you will be retrieving them in the baggage hall?  If so, no need for an agent.  Even if they're coming cargo, you don't need an agent, you go to the cargo office present your paperwork for the shipment, they inspect (or not) and you retrieve your stuff.
