Possibilities for accommodation

Hi all, I arrived in Doha yesterday and am planning to be here for 2 years. Currently I am staying at my company's accommodation for 1 month. During this 1st month, I am expected to find my own accommodation and move there.

I'll be working in West Bay (office is near City Centre Mall) for the whole 2 years. Therefore, I am looking for 2 bedroom + 2 bathroom fully-furnished apartment which is not very far from West Bay (say around 30 min car drive to work from home). I am hoping to get this 2 bed + 2 bath fully-furnished apartment for no more than QAR 7000/month. Is this possible to get a place within this budget and also not too far from West Bay in terms of travelling time? Am I being realistic in terms of budget that I can rent a place for less than QAR 7000/month? What are the areas that I should target (say areas like Al Sadd, Najma, etc)?

Thanks everyone in anticipation for your help.

Hi,

In majority of cases you will need a bank account and residency permit here, as the common payment practice is by post dated cheques, i.e. a 1 yr contract will require 12 x cheques + 1 x security deposit. However, many landlords are now becoming more flexible and will accept payment by bank transfer, monthly in advance. You can also pay quarterly/half yearly etc.

Hope that helps.

Kind regards

Just becarefull avoid agent/middleman, either go to a proper real estate or owner directly if possible.

Your journey time depends on what times your travel, of course. If you leave at 6 in the morning you can get a lot further in half-an-hour than if you leave at 7:30!

Good, welcome. But isn't it too early to think about

all these things with in a overnight buddy !!!!!

Try to meet your boss or head of the dept., and office friends and so on to say. You need medical, finger etc.,

once your status becomes firm, then think about luxury.

Don't get discouraged, take it sportively, good luck.
