Place in British Curriculum school
Hi,
I am relocating to Qatar towards end of June and my family will be joining me towards end of July and will be looking forward to find a place in good British Curriculum School for KG/Pre School grade. While looking at the online forums I am really worried about finding a seat for her.
So can you please advise me regarding:
a) Best Schools in British Curriculum where I can find place for my daughter. Are there any new Schools coming up etc so they will be having more chances of entry.
b) Best way to approach Schools to lock a place in.
c) As I am looking for one place only in KG / Pre School, so are there better chances of entry.

Admissions are a nightmare. When we had called British School of Doha was not even taking in nay application. Fortunately we were just in time for Doha college.
You could also keep your child listed on waiting list, so that you have an option to change in case you are not happy with Newton.
We too are moving to Doha from Dubai in Aug. The house hunt is going on now.

I have approached Newton and they have confirmed availability. lets see how it goes by the time my family arrive in Qatar.
the old montesorry is full and not accepting anything now. the next recruitment will be in Jan2014 for september 2014 intake.

Sherborne has places I think but at over 40000 a year, that is possibly the reason
I found another one which is Guld English School. they seem to have spaces, but cant be bothered to get back to you.
you need to be careful at the location of the school in comparison to where you will be living. commuting is a bit of a nightmare.
finally, I would say, go for any school, and pay for additional english and math lesson on the side to keep your kiddies up to speed. in the same time put them on waiting list of good school.

I have arrived nearly two month ago, my family is joining me today and I still have not got a school for them.
Most school are not accepting application, and some will but just to put you on the waiting list, which can go on for ever.
I have 3 sons aged 9,6 and 4 and it is turning into a nightmare.
The best school without a shadow of a doubt is DESS, but they have no places. my eldest is 11th on the waiting list, my middle 77th and litle one is 93rd. this is waiting list for assessment.
Newton are accepting people but closing fast. my boys are getting assessed on the 3rd June. they have opened 2 new campuses, which is why they have room.
