first check with your bank sales guy who arranged loan for you, otherwise read concern bank rules n regulations, most of the cases in personal loans if you are loosing r terminating from job in proper reason (means without ur fault or mistake) no need to pay the amount bank, any how check with sales guy,

im sure that ur company will give u NOC.. better sell ur car, and use the money to pay the monthly deposits for ur loan, while looking for a job.. i think in a month or two u can get a job.. ask the bank for a grace period if u are sure u can get a new job... if not better, go home before the bank knows that you lost your job.. its not your fault, ok.. sell the car, and everything.. go home, if u reach ur country.. return all the money u got from selling ur things..

Loan amount is usually granted on the basis of your salary and a salary certificate is also attached to your loan application. I guess the law says (I asume Qatar has the same law as UAE)if you can not repay your loan due to being terminated and cannot find another job you will have to sell your assets such as car to settle the loan amount and also your end of services benefits shall be transferred to the bank as a compensation to the outstanding loan.

If you withdrew a loan of 75k, for sure you will have to pay more (as called profit by Islamic Banks & Interest by other commercial banks). When you sell your car & furniture, you will collect 47k as mentioned in ur post. Now isnt there more you have to pay than 28k to the bank? anyways, if you bought a car for 60k just about a year or more back, shouldnt you be able to fetch a better amount than just 40k ? what car looses depreciation of 20k in a year ?

try to get a better deal for your car & furnitures, still if 28k remaining amount, go to the bank, make sure you talk to MANAGER, speak politely, they know the situations all over the world. Tell them, this is what you can give them now, & dont find any other way to give them anything back. They will suggest a way, they have advisors, banks may waive off the remaining as bad debts & claim from Insurance, as i belive loans to have insurance.

PS: you can leave the country any time before the bank is notified about your termination, but i recommend not to take this step. you will be black listed.

Dont worry, there are thousands of people with same situation of yours here in Qatar presently. Its not your fault, you never tried to steal anything, or running away. Banks wont eat you up,,no one will do anything, just be away from heavy tensions, sleep well & you will think of a better way yourself.

My prayers are with you. All the best.

I think you only have to pay less than QR 28,000 because you've already paid 1.5 years out of the 4 year loan term.

As already suggested, sell your car and household stuffs, then add also your end of service gratuity and your last salary and maybe you might be able to come up with enough money to clear your loan.

Yes, sell your car and furnishings and then go to the bank and offer them this amount plus whatever end-of-contract gratuity you might be owed. Banks will often take what they can get if it's a reasonable offer. And let this be a reminder to others - don't take out big loans that you do not have an alternative way of repaying if you lose your job. Not to pick on this gentleman, but 60,000 for a car is quite a bit. You can get a used car for half of that.

I heard several cases as yours, notify the bank (by letter) that you are unble to pay for succeding months until you get a new job. you cannot go anywhere I mean outside the country until you seattle/finish your loan. Im sure that you will be able to get NOC from your sponsor to find a new job because the goverment have no choice to hold you in this country until such time you completed your loan.

Other option is sell your car .... in order to lower than your loan.

Hope you can find a new job sooner.

Good luck to you!

NEVER run away...

Ask your company if they could give NOC...find a job for you to pay those loans...or just sell your car and ask help from your family for the remaining unpaid amount.

GOD bless and good luck....

Ignore the post of running away because YOU CAN'T!!! The moment the company terminates you, they will inform the bank that you have been terminated. The bank will file a case under the Ministry of Interior banning you from leaving the country. Sell your car and it will pay for some, if not all, of your loans.

Good luck in finding a new job.

if you can organise a job else where for your self, back home or another country, you can talk to the banks risk department and they will consider if you can leave and still send money back. other than that if your company has terminated your because of down sizing they must provide NOC and you can find a new job/sponsor here

I do no know what action specifically Islamic bank would take but certainly they will want you to repay the loan somehow. In a similar case another bank reportedly arranged a ban for the borrower to travel outside the country. And I think that's it. You better find another job in Qatar and repay the loan. May God help you to find a way out.
