I am coming from Chicago to Doha in a couple of months and would like to bring my Macbook Pro. Do I need to get a converter for it to work? I really don't want to blow up my computer!

Hi Melissa --

No worries about your Mac. All Macs are dual voltage. You'll have to use a plug converter since the plugs are different shapes in Qatar, but the voltage is fine.

We have four Macs (and we recently purged) and have had two previous expat postings. . .so we speak from experience.

I'm not really sure...the side of the power cord says Apple 85W Portable POwer Adaptor on one side and Input 100-240V 50-60Hz on the other side....

i think the adaptor given in a box is 110/220/240 compatible.. am i correct?

here the power voltage is 220/240...if ur mac book pro supports ok otherwise u have to buy a convertor from 110 to 220/240
