Just moved to Qatar last night

I just moved to Qatar last night , seems like a nice place so far , kind of reminds of dubai , as I lived in dubai previously , moved from dubai to here .

The weather is pretty much the same , and not sure about the club scene ..

I got hired here as a receptionist , currently staying at four seasons hotel for a month , paid by the company of course..

I like this West bay area , seems very nice , and quiet , not sure if i can find rent here for 10,000 a month , as thats my budget for a 1 bedroom , glad im not married otherise id need a bigger place ..

Any good restaraunts to visit , any good palce to mingle any good clubs to mingle and meet people here?

I left my boyfriend of 7 years in dubai , he didnt want to move with me , so i came here on my own , and we broke up , so im ready to mingle again !!!

I dont know if relationships are frowned upon here , despite me being very young , seems like it should be fun here.

Not sure where to go to meet people ...

Just wanted to say hello !

My mailbox has filled up . The reason I type like this is due to the fact that Qatar living seems like a laid back community , so why not be laid back ?

Welcome to Qatar...surely when you come out of a "loving" seven year relationship, you'd want a break before finding someone else??

QR10,000 allowance for a receptionist?...am not wondering now why my investment money's dividend is too small...

Thanks for the clarification..:)

The work you mentioned is more of an executive Assistant/Secretary..

Anywayz..its just a title..:)

Good luck!!

ROFL.. Xena, so true :D

Be careful Lisa, the perverts will come out of the woodwork now for you. One minute they will be posting that women from the west are sluts and dress offensivley and next they will be asking for a date...

By Xena• 13 Jun 2012 10:52
Xena

It's a boy/girl thing..

If you're a boy - the other boys feel threatened that they are going to come in and steal the few women that are actually in Doha/ on QL...

If its a girl.... you are all begging her to stay... to add to your "haram" :-p

A girls posts "Moved to Qatar" thread... and gets 16 welcoming comments 15-30 mins..

A guy posts the same.. and gets 10 very dry comments in 2 days... most of them telling him to change his mind

Such discrimination :'(

Welcome lisa !! :D

don't know why, but as an exec sec, you'd think the typing would be way more professional, don't you?

fully-furnished, I think Ezdan has. Or the surrounding.

there is a difference.

Assistant, receptionist.

Or executive secretary.

And with 7 years in relation in Dubai, I think it's more of the receptionist, yeah, you're right!

Yeh 10,000 , thats the allowance given to me. I am the executive receptionist for the CEO of the company.

I am working for an investment company here in Qatar, and I do all the work for bookings , etc and all for the CEO and COO as well , so its pretty hectic.
