am having a job interview for team sales leader, and would like to know what is expected salary in Qatar for some one with 15 years experience, also what else should I negotiate .I have 3 sons all in school age.
as long as your basic salary is 35% more then what you make in your home country, then go for it, accommodation, school, benefits should be included. Also note that lay offs are taking place and jobs here aren't that secure as they used to,So you might wanna think twice before quitting your existing job.
Tell them openly you are from the West. Keep your nose high up in the air during the interview and just see how well they pay you. The term "western expat" you have stated in your subject line carries a lot of weight here in the Middle East.
With 3 kids, I think the total package shouldn't be lower than 35 (without accommodation) or 25 (with accommodation). They will most probably try to lower your salary and lure you instead with commissions on sales. Be careful not to overestimate commissions as sales in some sectors are not guaranteed.
If you ask for NOC in an interview nobody will ever take you in ............ instead go to a company who has regard for you today & tomorrow ....................
Demand 30K + accom+ Car+Education allowance for your 03 Kids in American or British School and entertainment allowance (gym, etc.) last not the least Commission.
just adding to Brity's comment: You should also receive, platinum medical insurance, and life insurance from the company, good commission plan based on your sales/KPIs, possibly company provided car, and white glove onboarding process and throughout your employment with your new employer in Qatar. Best of Luck!

Asking for the NOC from the first interview? Wow what a brilliant suggestion....

You have to be reasonable,
First of all know the capabilities of your company,
Salary shouldn’t be less than 20000 but preferred to have provided accommodation,
Perfect if they provided education allowance,
Also Don’t hesitate and don’t be afraid,
You are selling company’s products can’t you sell yourself!
I mean "profit sharing" for Western Expats on top of the above benefits.
Above posts didn't include the profit sharing as well. This is very common in Qatar now.

Company provided accomodation in a compound, full education allowance for all three children, transport allowance, NOC at end of contract
Expect nothing. tell them what you want and see if you can get it.
